Our Advocacy

The West Papua Campaign USA (WPC USA) plays a crucial role in integrating the Free West Papua Movement within the United States by advocating for the self-determination and human rights of the West Papuan people. This integration is vital as it amplifies the voices of West Papuans, highlighting their struggle against oppression, colonialism, and human rights abuses. By fostering a community of support and raising awareness through educational initiatives, WPC USA ensures that the plight of West Papuans is recognized on an international stage. This advocacy not only seeks justice for past and ongoing injustices but also aims to secure a future where West Papuans can freely determine their political and social destiny.

In addition to its focus on human rights, WPC USA emphasizes climate change and environmental justice as core components of its advocacy. West Papua is home to some of the world’s most biodiverse ecosystems, which are under threat from deforestation, mining, and other environmentally destructive practices
By integrating environmental justice into its mission, WPC USA addresses the interconnectedness of ecological preservation and indigenous rights. This approach not only protects the environment but also supports the cultural and physical survival of the West Papuan people. Through initiatives like the Green State Vision, WPC USA advocates for sustainable development and the protection of West Papua’s natural resources, ensuring that environmental justice is a key part of their broader fight for freedom and self-determination
